TVET HACK-DAY

On Friday, 27th March 2026, JKUSA hosted the TVET Hack-Day at the JKUAT Assembly Hall — a focused innovation challenge built around the theme ‘Innovate | Create | Solve’ and aimed squarely at TECH and BUSINESS students.

The Hack-Day ran from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM and pushed students to move beyond ideas on paper: to pitch real solutions, build simple digital prototypes, and propose changes that make everyday campus life better.

Submissions were judged across three categories — Best Business Idea (pitch a solution to a local problem), Best Tech Concept (create a simple digital prototype), and Best Campus Innovation (improve everyday campus life).

The event drew a packed hall of students, reinforcing JKUSA's commitment to hands-on skills, entrepreneurship and student-led problem solving — the exact posture the TVET agenda demands.

The Secretary General, Joseph Abuya, and the Treasurer, Esther Wanjiru, organised and hosted an AWS Cloud Day — a focused student engagement session that equipped 200 learners with practical insights into cloud computing, digital skills and emerging career pathways in the global technology ecosystem.
